About John Roy -- John's investigation of the biomechanics of movement began over 30 years ago while teaching and competing in gymnastics. He holds a B.S. in Physical Education from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. His twelve year study of Argentine Tango includes intensive work with noted instructors in San Francisco while in residence for eighteen months. Significant influences include: Miller Ramil, Nora Dinzelbacher, Fabian Salas, Homer & Christina, Metin Yazir, El Pulpo & Luiza, and Christopher Nassopoulos. John has taught Argentine Tango in Albuquerque since 2001 and conducted workshops in Dallas, Cincinnati, and Singapore. Awards include several first places in Argentine Tango competitions. The teaching method which he has developed with the influence of others is Celestial Tango. |
